Abstract
Fetal cystic hygroma is a congenital malforation of the lymphatic system appearing a single or multiloculated fluid-filled cavity most often in the nuchak region. The malformation is believed to arise from failure of the lymphatic system to
communicate
with the venous nuchal system. Sometimes the lesion progresses to fetal hydrops, causing fetal death.
We experienced a case of cystic hygroma which was detected ultrasonographically in the second trimester and report this case with review of related literatures.
